Bush's Moon/Mars initiative was just election baloney. He didn't mention it during his State of the Union Speech and is making no effort to support it through Congress. It's Dead on Arrival. They'll probably muddle through with the Shuttle until there's another accident. Then they'll can the Shuttle and probably the ISS as well. We're witnessing the end of manned space exploration soon to be followed by unmanned space exploration's termination.

We're one asteroid away from extinction and making no effort to save ourselves. It's obvious that tool using apes are too damned stupid to establish a permanent presence in the galaxy.
