Being gang tackled is part of his job

The heat that Bush took over his space initiative was insignificant compared to what he got over the Iraq War and the budget blowout. It's comes with his job. However what probably does annoy Bush is the low [political reward]/[political pain] ratio connected with Space Exploration politics. After the smoke clears, Bush will probably be honored by history for his decisive action in Afghanistan and Iraq. However fixing the Space Program is also difficult with almost no near or far term political payoff. It'll take an Abraham Lincoln / Franklin D. Roosevelt class President to fish the Space Program out of the toilet.
