So are you saying that the appropriate response to the terror attack would be to:
1. Re-elect a government whose policies were not supported by the electorate and
2. reward a government on whose watch this terror incident happened? thereby
3. allowing the domestic and international powers of a soverign state to be dictated by the actions of foreign powers
And how would this not be a 'victory' for the bad guys as well?
it seems that the Al Qaeda construct you have painted can never lose...
That we Don't know who did it is very true- but if you actually talk to some spainairds, the biggest black-mark on the former Gov't caused by this terrorist act was by their own rush to pin it on ETA in the absence of any evidence in order to avert any possible political damage.
It seems to me that this Gov't didn't need Al Qaeda to get 'unelected'. It seems to me that it did it all by its lonesome. Maybe the thin soda-straw 'its all about al-Qaeda' world view misses even the slightly broader and more realistic view of events.
Maybe not everything is about 9/11. (like Iraq, the Economy, and Spanish elections)
