"It's sounding as if you think their support was insignificant, didn't matter, and shouldn't have pissed off the population, 90% of whom did not want the government to support that "war"."

Their support was not insignificant. It did matter and was appreciated.

Not only was Spain attacked for aiding Iraqis and providing security, but also for voicing opposition to terrorism.

And apparently Al Qaeda doesn't pay attention to polls.
