In a bit of a pissing match on another board, Larry J. said this about my friend (me), Bowser.
Larry J. "But, you DID say that he declared major hostilities were over. The title of your post said it in those words. Now, you're denying you said it. You lied and I called you on it. Face it, Bowser, you're incapable of telling the truth about Bush. It must suck to be you."
Strong words. Notice, he said I lied, and he called me on it. He suggested I'm incapable of telling the truth about Bush. And added it must suck to be me.
Here is a quote from a White House press briefing by Ari Fleisher talking about the same speech.
Mr. Fleischer: "Well, as the President said on the Abraham Lincoln, there are dangers that remain still in Iraq. There are still battlefields in Iraq. The President declared that the major hostilities are over."
I did not claim GWB used those exact words. I used those words to proclaim the sentiment of a victory speech. AS DID ARI FLEISCHER, speaking from the White House on behalf of GWB.
Now, in my opinion, that vindicates me. And indicates that I did not lie.
Let's see if Larry J. has the wherewithal to apologize. It might indicate the beginning of intellectual honesty. A start. Maybe a seed.
