and a good opening point for discussion.

It would seem that morals are situational principles of behavior that develop as a result of group values.

I am not sure there can be "universal" morals, if this premise is correct. While most of see survival as a "good" to be protected and want rules to aid this goal, there is no basis to see this as a universal. An ant hill wouldn't care a fig for it.
