If one wants an analogy, look at the relative morality between humans and other animals.
While we humans chauvanistically project our perceptions upon potential visitors, an alien species would be as different as we are from birds, or insects.
There would be, certainly, an intellectual capability on their part which is much greater than on ours, or they wouldn't be here.
And if you consider how technologically advanced humans treat less advanced humans, let alone animals, you might get an idea as to how we would be regarded by them. And treated.
I think it's part of our arrogance that we think we'd be regarded very highly as an advanced species, treated well as a peace-loving bunch, and nurtured.
All they'd have to do is look around the planet at the savagery perpetrated by "Homo", and that, as they say, would be that.
