re: The terrorists are not losing!!!

"The question here is; did Bush do all he could do to stop terrorism and the answers from early on in his administration is no! It has been said that the one of they last conversations Bush and Clinton had before Clinton left the Whitehouse was Bill telling George "terrorism should be your number one priority". I think you could argue that it wasn't Clinton's, but we have Bush here now and during September 11, 2001."

The point you are missing is that stopping terrorism this isn't something you can do in a short period of time. And second thing you are missing is that even if Clinton had this as a high priority, our fundemental approach to terrorism was flawed. We had this flawed appoach as a result of the Cold war. The Cold war was not Hot:)- it mostly involved a covert warfare. We were also in a disadvantage in terms of trying to use any leverage to try to get other countries to reform. Not only that, but we favored govts which were "resistant" against being destablized and that could provide stable foreign policy in regards to us. Combine this with our sympathy towards "people being able to have political freedom" lead us to have a degree of "permissiveness" towards terrorism.
In other words we were not fighting against foreign terrorism, we were coping with terrorism.

"For hours we seemed to have no head of state on 9/11/01. A question is what would have been Clinton's response if he was still POTUS? I'm sure it would not have been hiding in Airforce One. Within minutes of the attacks he would have been on TV talking to the American public."

He had no way of being certain of the scale of the attack- using 4 planes at one time is a level of terrorists attack not seen before. This looked like war and it was war- in war, one of your easiest and highest priorities is to protect your "King". If Clinton had seriously tried to endanger himself at that time, I wouldn't surprised if his security simply overrode him- they'll take the bullet for him in number of ways.

"Another more important question is...

is Bush the best person to run this country? I think the answer is NO!"

Elections are about 7 months- 7 months is a long time in politics.
