re: The Administration

I would be a lot more impressed by all this activity if there was the slightest bit of evidence that this entire process was actually intended to fix problems with our intelligence and the way we deal with terrorists as opposed to being used and co-opted by the Democratic Party solely as a mechanism for removing a Republican president from office.

Who the hell do they think they're kidding with this? Every single Democratic action in this entire process has had as its one goal getting a shot at Bush and his cabinet.

To a number of Democrats, this is as much about the war on terror, as the Clinton impeachment was about the rule of law and protecting the rights of women was to a number of Republicans.

If you want real questions answered, ask yourself why the FBI and CIA were separated and de-balled throughout the 1970s and later. Find out about some of the intelligence turf wars that are even now crippling some essential functions. Figure out who the heck we can trust in other nations' intelligence agencies and who we can't.

Some Democrats even thought in recent years that the CIA should be abolished. After all, the Cold War was over, right?
