Americans are dying trying to make Iraq free and prosperous...

While the first part is painfully true ("Americans are dying"), I don't buy the last part anymore. The freedom and prosperity of people outside our borders doesn't mean squat to us, I don't think.

If the future of Iraq is poverty and continued oppression, I imagine that's just fine with our govt, so long as Iraq is under our thumb. That's all that matters.
