The press will go after whoever is in office.

I don’t think any president is immune from attacks from the press. Look at Clinton. He was held in high regard with the press, but they still attacked him and stabbed him in the back. It doesn’t really matter which party you are in, the press will attack either side when they see a chance to sell the news.

Sometimes it does seem like they let a Democrat president get away with more than a Republican (It sure seems that way to me), but that may be a biased view on my part.

Every since Bob Woodard’s Watergate, no president has been safe from the eyes of the press. Every reporter out there wants to find their ‘Watergate’ story to make them rich and famous. And they will go after whoever is in office to get it.

The press picked on Ford, Carter, Reagan (Was liked by the press at first), Bush H. Clinton (Was liked by the press, but they had no problem going after him) and now Bush W.

Actually, due in part to 9/11 IMO and since 9/11, the press has left President Bush alone for most of his term. But since Iraq, they have had few nice things to say about him.
