Actually, Zarqawi was not involved in the 9/11 attacks and the reports that he had received medical treatment in Iraq have been found to be false. And, in fact, the U.S. military has concluded that Abu al-Zarqawi is not now operating on behalf of Al Qaeda.
Abu al-Zarqawi has lived in Jordan, Afghanistan and Iran. His alleged stay in Baghdad in 2002 was brief and there is no evidence that he was there on behalf of the Iraqi government. In fact, we're not entirely sure he's in Iraq now.
Abu al-Zarqawi is a bad guy, but there is no evidence to connect his actions with the Iraqi government. Heck, we've got similar bad guys right here in the U.S., but that doesn't mean they're working for George Bush. Even Ramzi Yousef was able to get medical treatment from a New Jersey hospital. Does that make him an agent on behalf of New Jersey?!?
There are a lot of inaccurate rumors floating around about Zarqawi, and Bill O'Reilly - not entirely accurate himself - is prone to repeating information barely worthy of a headline in the National Enquirer.
Still...I hope we nail his buns good.
Current Events » in reply to Abu al-Zarqawi, an Al Qaeda leader been doing in Iraq since before the war started?
