Only when politicians became entwined in regulating business (as a means to seduce the union vote) did the unions become corrupt. So now not only are the politicians in the pocket of big business, but in the pocket of big labor as well. Face it, politicians (both sides) are whores willing to sell themselves to anyone they think can help them stay in power. And they will taint anything and everyone they touch.
