I think(?) Einstein died an Atheist

Legend has it, Einstein lost his religion due to quantum mechanics. Einstein is famous for saying "Gott würfelt nicht." (God does not play with dice). However the evidence for quantum mechanics' validity was irrefutable and Einstein was too good of a scientist to ignore this. Consequently, Einstein's faith in God was broken. As an agnostic I think Einstein was wrong about this. I see no contradiction between the universe as an artifact and quantum theory.
