I assume Tom, that you're talking about non-Christians and non-believers expressing their viewpoints in various areas and yes, some of them are very pushy about their beliefs. What seems to be the difference there is that it's coming more from ordinary citizens. If you don't like their message, simply shut them out and turn them off.
Almost never do you see them in positions of political power where there's a strong chance that they could impose legislation on you, relegating your beliefs to a second-class status. It would be political suicide for a candidate today to expouse atheism or agnosticism. Generally, the few organizations that do tend to look out for non-believers are not out creating legislation and statutes to limit anyone's rights or liberty, but are instead trying to block attempts by the religious right to impose their narrow viewpoint of morality, sexuality and education on the rest of us. Most would be happy to raise their families and enjoy life but understandably rise up when told their taxes might go to send their neighbor's kid to Catholic school or see Constitutional amendments being crafted that clearly use religious beliefs to descriminate against a portion of our society.
Were it all about the words "In God We Trust" on our currency or a yearly Nativity scene at a courthouse, I doubt you'd see anyone alarmed but it seems that the fundamentalists use those things as a foot in the door for much more intrusive precedence.
It's time this country starts rating its leaders less on the number of church services they go to and recitations to God they have in their speeches and more on their actions.
