Just was reading the post about Colorado's attempts to change the way their electoral college votes are set and was thinking. I'll bet that just about everyone in here, regardless of their political leaning, would love to see the electoral college done away with and the election decided by popular vote. Have this feeling that the change would never come from Congress so the only chance seems to be if it begins with the citizens in a direct intiative to alter the Constitution.
Maybe this is an issue we could all embrace and begin the machinations required. I'm truly tired of my vote having little weight to it if I want to vote for a Dem candidate in a primarily Republican state as I'm sure California Republicans are as well when their electoral votes are all going Democratic.
Instead of us all whining (and I'm guilty too), why not take this on?
Something we could all work on together

- Thanks Art, for extending the discussion,
- A democratic website in Colorado is discussing this at length.
- Good idea, but method of emergency replacement of Congress is higher priority
- Perhaps we should discuss the merits of the EC first? (n/t)
