It's called analyzing patterns of behavior, drawing conclusions from past data, and paying more attention to actions than words.
It's called thinking. Why does it freak everyone out when I draw my own conclusions from my own observations?
John F. Kerry has a long history in his political career of typical leftist hostility toward the military, of cleaving to the idea of America as the "troublemaker" of the world, of assuming that the United Nations and Europe are superior to America in policies, morals, and economics, and of constructing false personnas to gain political goals.
John Kerry does not believe we should be in Iraq. He does not believe America is in the right. Like many here, he radiates this from every pore. His current "allies" approach has been shot down already, with Germany and France declaring that they would not help no matter who was President. So what's left? What kind of leadership in a war is possible from a leader who thinks the war is useless and immoral? What kind of Commander in Chief would he be with the firm belief that our soldiers are dying for nothing?
Whatever chance we have to succeed in Iraq right now, it would drop to zero with Kerry as President. What alternative is there except withdrawal?
The most likely scenario if Kerry were elected is that he would immediately enter long and fruitless negotiations with Europe, the United Nations, and God help us, maybe even the insurgency. Remember the Vietnam Peace Talks?
This would eat several months, maybe even a year or two, while the military in Iraq twists in the wind, looking for direction, the insurgency is encouraged by our paralysis, and the people of Iraq come to believe that we are going to abandon them yet again.
I don't know, or even care under what pretense he would bring our troops crawling home. But I would bet a month's pay that it would be before a year was out.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
