I followed the policies of the Democratic Party for many years. If you don't see a pattern of being anti-military, or assuming that the U.S. has to capitulate in any foreign policy conflict, I don't know what you've been looking at. Look at the Cold War. The Democrats pushed appeasement, disarmament, reduction of military spending, and compromise with every two-bit totalitarian regime we came up against. Reagan pushed back, thank God.
Between 1974 and 1980, ten countries fell under Soviet influence. After that, it stopped. Eventually, the Soviet Union collapsed. And it wasn't because of the Democrats.
Not much has changed, and Kerry was right down the mainstream of these ideas.

The bet is kind of a moot point since Kerry isn't going to win. ;)
