The last question you ask is loaded with insight, but those who oppose you won't read that far, or they'll have dismissed your arguments before they'd even opened your post.
But you're correct, of course, the overall conservative/NRA response to the most recent tragedy remains the same as it's been for years: respond to gun violence by introducing more guns. Keeps government out-of-the-loop, increases demand for weapons and ammunition, makes a man feel like a man.
Frankly, it's one of the issues on which I'm feeling rather worn down. We see now that the mass-murder of children inspires little more than a shrug. Saving those lives "would have been impractical." But hey, if the majority of Americans want to live in an armed camp, who am I to tell them they can't?
