"Do you really think that the US couldn’t control guns if it wanted to?"
The "U.S.?" Who is that, exactly? The god-emperor in Washington? The Party? Chris Matthews?
Or the nearly half (47 percent) of American households who own guns? Keep in mind that's only those willing to tell a pollster they own guns. Keep in mind that 40 percent of that group are Democrats.
Who gets to decide "national will" in a free (supposedly) country? The term "national will" is creepy to start with.
One of the "insurmountable problems" is that there aren't anywhere near enough Americans who agree with you, and the more your side starts to stink of tyranny--which seems to be their ground state lately--the less of those Americans there'll be.
