You certainly parsed my sentence well; I hadn't thought of that perspective. I grant you that one could read it in the way you describe, which never occurred to me, as the actual memory of that real conversation is still so vivid, and is not at all hypothetical.

Also, it is probably a good thing that I enjoy having my eyes opened, so I'm sort of 'entertained' by your analysis.

Maybe I am too touchy ..? You've handled this quite well, after all.
