Yeah, like proving a negative I guess.

Granted, we went in on what turned out to be faulty intelligence (be it Bush's if you must). But, the war was based on assumptions that "we" could not afford to ignore.

Or: In order to think that you were wrong and change your mind, we have to proceed to carry on a war on dubious grounds, in a direction and method that is not proving to be effective, that is billed as a great success while our troops can't even drive around Baghdad without a firefight?

"Proceed to carry on the war"? Is there a choice? It doesn't matter whether "I" was right or wrong, it's the right thing to do now. Also, if we had found the VX and anthrax would your position be different now? It was Saddam's choice not to document the destruction of those weapons as directed, if indeed that's what was done.

Bottom line, the consequences of not acting against the perceived threat of SH and his regime could have been far greater than not acting on Intel that said "some terrorists" "somewhere" might fly planes into buildings. You might as well take advantage of hindsight when you have it.

As far as the "painting" goes, I was referring to our resident 'canine' VanGogh in his continuing effort to render a sky without stars.
