Tom, you can't have it both ways, not without being a hypocrite.

You point out the lack of a credible 'Order Of Battle' or 'Distinct' Alternative Plan on the part of the oposition. Fine. But thin there is this:

"Battle plan? The "battle plan" for WWII was to do whatever was required tactically and strategically to destroy the enemy's ability to make war [.....] Draw a tactical decision tree for WWII sometime. See how it goes. And that's with the advantage of hindsight.

I see, so no clear set of subgoals, no clear initiatives to bring about concrete aims is to be articulated or expected from the proponents of this war.

However: The Left is expected to articulate a 20 point plan, all worked out, about how to being this conflict to an end reasonably with minimal loss of life to both sides.

Sounds like a pretty huge double standard to me.

And from this, we extrapolate to:

['we continue doing what we are doing'] because at this point there IS NO OTHER PATH

This is where we go from double standard to self-fulfiling delusions. There can be no clear plan because it is a fluid situation in service of clear aims. The left has no clear plan. Therefore we must continue acting in the way in which we are acting. Bullshit. Sell it to someone else. Again I say that you and your kind have been reacting emotionally and doing what feels good since sept-11, are not motivated by a rational analysis, and are using reason as a means to an end, not as a method for producing an end.
