Life is lived forward, but understood backward.
So the only reason for a slight distrust, the only reason to wonder a bit about their motives, may be that the Bush's have taught us they can't be trusted.
The only reason for suspicion may be that they have created a situation where one must be dumb as a box of rocks to trust 'em.
To the point that one must ignore past practices, past realities, and their lack of character to think that all at once they can now be trusted.
If it weren't that Bush is sneaky, dishonest, and a weasel I'd say your cynicism is paranoia of the worst type. That you need to develop a regard for the human spirit. That living with such a poor opinion of others says much about you and little about them.
