I should have been more specific. The leadership of the U.N. fears a loss of power and influence--not to mention cash flow--in the realm of humanitarian assistance, and is reacting accordingly.
While the U.N. has a good record in the humanitarian areas, something readers here know I have mentioned before, it's not perfect, and corruption has been an issue in some place. I can see how it might be a sensitive area for them, but it doesn't warrant the cheap shots they've been firing at others trying to help.
For the record, I have donated to UNICEF in past years, although not as much as to other aid charities.
