A rather simple equation is being missed by the neocons posting here. And that would be: The enemy of my enemy is my friend. And the corollary: The friend of my friend is also my friend.
This is the premise for recruitement and the growth broadening of Arab hostilities.
We are in a war in which it is not enough to militaryily defeat the enemy, he also has to become enpowered again and convinced of the rightness of our cause. To a large extent we have failed in the later part of this mission and have to play catch up.
