Gary, pretty much all the lands of the middle east have sacred places Iraq included! We are stuck there for decades unless the Iraqi Theocracy tells us to get out as soon as they gain power after the election. Then we will have two Irans! And very possibly a Iraq civil war and no oil flowing for decades!
Non of what Bush planned for Iraq has actually come to past (except the war) and non will.
