re: Yes & No

The war however was a continuation of GW1 sanctioned by the UN based on Saddam's failure to abide by the truce terms and further sanctioned by 1441 threatening severest consequences. Still waiting on a definition of what that more severe consequence is that means 1441 didn't justify force

The problem with this argument is it was never portrayed to America by the president as such. Its unfortunate, because it would have been a more stable postition than the one President Bush adopted. True as your statement might be, it needed to be articulated by the President for it to be the motive for war. If you can find a speech or article where Bush lays out the argument as you wrote it I'd gladly take back these words. To my knowledge it was only brought up by others never the President, though I could be wrong.

Had President Bush used that argument than he would not have needed to keep changing his tune as the time ticked away without evidence of WMD turning up. He could have simply said Saddam had his chance to abide by the resolution, now we are enforcing his dismissal from office.

I'm pretty sure I wrote something to this same effect back when the war was ramping up. I supported the war, but lamented the fact that President Bush never defined the justification in the terms you laid out.
