re: Swords into plowshares
Works if you're a blacksmith, and even then only if you happen to be as good at forging swords as you are at forging plowshares, not common even in the age of the swords and smiths.
Unfortunately, in human history, plowshares eventually had to be forged back into swords, unless the farmers didn't mind being a slave, or dead. But I digress.
The point is, it isn't as easy as telling McDonnell Douglas that from now on, they're going to build windmills and electric cars.
