Why is the usual figure for human power ratings ~ 100 Watts?
Hmmm... maybe they mean 100 Watts mechanical power, and muscles are ~ 20% efficient?
Perhaps the excess heat can be tapped for useable power in a Mars suit. Thermoelectrics running at ~ 20% [a bit advanced] would capture ~ 80 W max. Then again they'd probably be using the thermoelectrics to cool down...
