Heinlein was a repellent genius

"Heinlein's excellent 'juvenile' about an MIT bound kid who wins a spacesuit in a contest made that point about the human body's heat generating issues. I think that was his last juvenile, written before he went bonkers with his obsession with geezeroid sex books."

I believe an example of a Heinlein geezeroid sex book was "Time Enough for Love". It was the last of the Lazarus Long novels. Heinlein was a brilliant SF author. He was also a fascist and probably insane. I remember reading something by his former agent(?) commenting on how Heinlein was both a brilliant author and a thoroughly awful human being. Heinlein's later novels were still quite readable. However after reading a Heinlein novel, I'd always tell myself: "That was just an awful experience. I will never again read a Heinlein novel". Then 6 months later a friend would say "Did you read such-and-such by Heinlein, it was brilliant!". Then I'd get sucked in again, have the awful experience and once more make that same promise to myself to never read another Heinlein novel.
