I do have full insurance, and however have had major surgery, 3 times, in PUBLIC hospitals - NOT private. I was deeply impressed by the quality of surgery, quality of care by nurses and other staff, and by the facilities generally. However, even with full insurance, I still had to get loans to pay for my life-saving cancer-surgery, because the benefits allowed by 'socialized medicine' have been progressively rescinded since it was introuced in the 1970s, and even my full private insurance wouldn't cover the whole bill.
The "people you knew" must have radically different experiences from me, and all the people I know and have spoken to about this. There is a prevailing view here that private hospitals are actually more incompetent, occasionally even dangerous, than the public system - and the staff are definitely seen as less dedicated and hardworking in the private system. And that is my experience, after 22 years.
My summary? - Stick to writing what you know about Gary, like re-entry dynamics and the like. And don't bring your ideology to my own well-trodden turf.
The majority of people posting at this place are increasingly striking me as ideologically-motivated ignorant fools.
