I see your point Tom. You're still complaining about the taxes you pay every year. And you feel the government is taking away YOUR money.
Does this mean you might have to enter the work force again at age 55?
Does this mean you might have to do physical demanding labor that leaves you tired (and hopefully) breathless at the end of the day?
Frankly I have heard enough of your whining too.
I have been a single working mother of two for over 15 years now. I have often had to hold two jobs and drive old cars and not have anything in the bank for years, let alone the cushion of health insurance. I never had leisure time to complain about it to others. Although my own circumstances have changed greatly because of opportunities in this system; I find it very hard to have ANY sympathy for whiners about our system of taxation.
Daniel is right. Your tax dollars are going to bring "democracy" to a diverse culture half way around the world. Sort of like giving cell phones and a color TV to everyone living in the Sudan. If you think THAT is bad, maybe you ought to join the brotherhood of the tax reformists who think that US corporations aren't paying ENOUGH taxes. THEY are the ones who OWE this country, and they are the ones who supported GWBush and the GOP with their contributions this campaign.
