is my other cousin, on my Mom's side of the family. Like me, both he and his parents were born and raised in the US, but all his grandparents were Cuban.
Bob went to college and studied history and English on the GI Bill after he got out of the military, his siblings were also graduates, Masters in math and Fine Arts.
Bob's first job out of college was writing muckraking editorials for a local radio station. Unfortunately, he wrote some that were very embarassing to one of the station's advertisers, and he wound up not only losing his job, but being blackballed to boot.
He eventually got a job in the construction trades, and after a grueling 5-year apprenticeship, mastered his trade, and went on to become business manager for his union. When he became physically too old to work, he got his teaching certificate and eventually retired from the public school system. He is now an adjunct professor at the University teaching courses in things like "History of the American Labor Movement".
Karma, baby. Karma.
