whether they come from academia, government bureaucrats, or professional educators themselves.
We've been teaching kids for thousands of years, we should have it figured out by now, and it is one profession that is relatively tech-free (or should be). No one should be messing with software until they've learned fractions and grammar.
By now, we should know how to teach kids. I doubt there's anything the PhDs or the politicians can add to the art. If I had my way, I would abolish the entire idea of teacher certification and training.
Teachers should have some demonstrated and credentialed competence in the subject they are teaching, be it math, languages, or basketball. As to HOW to teach, a year's internship working under a qualified teacher should be all the additional training necessary.
