I have favored this point of view for a long time - Acreation (just my name for it) gets us out of looking for beginnings/endings and origins/edges that don't exist. Creation (something from nothing) has never been observed - the matter/energy budget always balances. Why would we base our most profound cosmological questions on a concept that has no physical definition?
Humans have always sought a theoretical framework for the universe that is an analogue to our everyday experiences of birth and death - when what we are really observing is the continual transformation of matter from one form into another. We rarely experience matter condensing out of energy (bubble chamber) or the liberation of energy from matter (nuclear explosion) - if we did I think a Creation-less universe would be the standard model.
