The total for deaths so far in the entire state of Louisiana, never mind New Orleans, is 197, although it will certainly go up.
Nobody in the media or elsewhere will, of course, own up to the hysterical screams of thousands dead, sometimes tens of thousands, often followed by laying these hypothetical deaths angrily at the feet of George W. Bush.
It will be very hard to convince reasonable people that George W. Bush is somehow personally responsible for the death toll from a Category 5 storm hitting the state not being lower than a few hundred. Expect the "coverup" crap to start here again.
Is that going to be the justification for telling us we aren't being kept "safe?"
There have been no terror attacks in the U.S. in four years now. How do we gauge "safe" or "not safe" on this basis? What would be considered "safer?" Negative attacks? The WTC rising and reassembling itself?
I dare say almost no liberal on this board will credit Bush's policies for this.
If we had a terror attack tomorrow, I dare say almost every liberal on this board would immediately lay the entire blame at the feet of the President.
