Robert, I've been watching the rhetoric since day one. Believe me, the Republicans did not start this. See my response to Mary Anne on CE.

Sorry, the chain of events for the politics of this is all over the internet, same as the chain of events and facts for the storm and how it was dealt with.

The old "we were just standing around minding our own business when the Republicans started getting political" gag isn't going to work this time.

I've collected enough facts now to know that when it eventually hits the fan in Washington, the fallout isn't going to land where people expect.

Synchronized rhetoric is not a monopoly of the Republicans, although there's one major difference: when the Republicans come out with a talking point, the media do not instantly snap it up and present it as their own. Just an example off the top of my head: anybody remember "gravitas?"
