Notice how most "ADHD" kids are boys and belong to mother only homes.
First, please state where you got the inside knowledge about "mother-only" homes. I'm already aware that the overwhelming diagnosis of ADHD is among boys, but so is dyslexia. I wonder about the male brain sometimes.
Women, when we go to the doctor and when we take the children to the doctor, are much more prone to listen to what the doctor says and to follow the directions or suggestions given by medical professionals. To suggest that large numbers of mothers are deliberately drugging their children so as not to be bothered with them is appalling.
Children are being diagnosed with ADHD in large numbers, and drugs are prescribed by doctors. These are not over the counter medications that people can procure on their own. The overdiagnosis belongs to the medical profession, not to parents who take their children in because they are having problems at school and then do what they are told by people who are trained to treat their children's problems.
If these same parents were told that their children had another chronic condition and failed to give the children their medication, you would be outraged.
Put the responsibility where it belongs.
Flame » in reply to ADD (ADHD?) medication is the "mother's little helper" of our time.
Not fair, and also wrong.
