The mid terms will tell

It is still nearly a year until the election and that is a long time politically. We'll see.

Things happen too fast to be confident of anything and nothing surprises me. I was somewhat amazed at Robert Byrd's scathing of the judicial commitee's handling of the Alito hearings but he is astute to recognize that the committee's behavior doesn't play well in Peoria. The more the dems cater to the left fringe over the next 6-8 months the closer they are to blowing it.

Speaking of Byrd, how many phones do you think he has tapped in his time?

Closer to home the beat goes on in FL where they are getting ready to execute another human person for killing a policeman. Apparently if it had been me or you he killed, life would have sufficed. Enough money has been spent on the guy over the last 20 years to permanently incarcerate a couple of dozen killers for life.

His death does not trouble me but it is not logical. In time the majority will see this and it will end, all without me stepping on a single soap box or wearing a single sandwichboard and in spite of those who cancel each other out on various soap boxes and sandwichboards.

I recall this from somewhere...

I shall not confront life as an enemy, but shall accept its contradictions as puzzles to be pondered. Nor shall I crudely seek to peel the layers away like the skin from an onion. Instead I shall gather them together as the tree gathers the breeze. The wind shall blow and I shall bend.

I like the sentiment but I do not claim to alway be true to it. :)

It is paraphrased and I'm not sure who originated it. Anyway, it's about moderation, which I admire vs. extremism and chickenlittlism which I detest.
