Cindy Sheehan's right to protest the war and receive sympathy from the public had nothing to do with her son's desires in the matter if she believes the war to be unjust. It is that right you begrudge every citizen because of your zeal to protect your fragile little lives. By dismissing the populist following Sheehan got to "15 minutes of fame" you put her on an equal footing with contestants on the Gong Show. That's a pretty cold heart you have there Tom.

She never once denied that her son volunteered or re-upped but her contention was that his decisions were based on lies. Certainly he's not around now to debate that but the millions that looked up to the woman certainly could feel the genuine emotions in her statements. Perhaps she's out of the spotlight simply because her message is beginning to resound with the American public and there are multiple rallying points now.

The parallels to the Vietnam times are astounding. The protests started with just a few and eventually spread to a huge populist uprising. Better hold your breath. The times they are a changing.
