re: "He did nothing illegal"

If I seem anti-Republican it's only because they have and are abusing power right now. There's substantially more of them in high office than there are Dems. REB, our country works best when you challenge power, not blindly trust it. I didn't blindly trust Clinton. I didn't blindly trust JFK. I hated Lyndon Johnson. Delay stinks of the same traits I saw in him.

You're right that the Texas Dems are pissed at him but his breaking of the rules and traditions had more profound effect on the makeup of politics in Texas than the silly act of defiance the Dems did. And just how did he come after them REB? You seem to be leaving that part out. Delay actually told the Department of Homeland Security to go looking for them implying a threat to the nation. Think I'd be pissed too.

The state Dems aren't the only ones taking shots at the man REB. The reports of bullying and corruption extend way past the Texas borders. You're right that he's legally innocent but it's just my hunch that where there's smoke there's fire.

I've read a great deal about Ronnie Earl, the prosecutor that's going after him. Certainly there's the possibility that his indictments are politically motivated but his track record doesn't show that inclination. He's actually prosecuted successfully more Democrats than Republicans. Actions speak louder than words here REB.

It's interesting to me that you haven't addressed my assertion that the man is a sleaze whether he's technically guilty or not. I guess I can assume by your tacit indiference that part doesn't matter to you. Any reason you have acceptance of smarmy bullies? I would think your Christian and spiritual beliefs would give you pause when you throw your support behind someone like Delay.
