The down is a combination of many things right now and this was just the straw that broke the camel's back. There are other sources of view on the radio dials that one can stumble across from time to time but they all throw in some distasteful component that makes them less listenable. One of the FM stations syndicated Tom Leykis, a talk show host I used to really enjoy when he was employed here years ago. His show was entertaining but had that Howard Stern style chauvinism to it now that gets old fast and waters down his political message.
I'm not sure where the PBS or NPR outlet is on the air but, if I remember right, when I did stumble across it, it was mostly boring. There needs to be this mix of politics and entertainment to cut through the din. Goyette was truly this exception in the sea of mediocraty and vat of spoiled brats using shock to compensate for their lack of intelligence and talent.
I failed to mention that my backup commute station - All Comedy Radio - went off the air a few weeks back without any notice at all. Suddenly the station started playing 40's show tunes. Perhaps they also fell victim to the right since the comedians they featured often took shots at the administration.
The rain was refreshing and helped the day considerably but it was much like waking up in bed with an ugly woman you'd met in a bar the previous night. (not that I have any experience in that area). You realize that the alcohol and wishful thinking overwhelmed the reality of the situation. The rain wasn't even measurable and we're still in the extended drought without any real relief on the horizon. We need a drencher thunderstorm with lightning strikes hitting the transmitters on the stations the Christers took over.

- A bit pissed today

- For God's sake, don't anyone tell him about Air America and New York. (n/t)
- Sounds like a great way to make money
- Awwwwww. The commie libs sold out to the rich Christians...
- Heh, heh.
- Is that last part a threat?
- The threat right now is rhetorical
- Typical: "competition" = "crushed by money"
- Then again, I could be wrong about nobody going "Billy Jack."
