Leftist economics is so one-sided.

Even if it were 200 million a day in expenditures (which is pie in the sky fantasy) that money goes places.

Here's a new, deep concept:

Everything that COSTS money to do - that money goes somewhere. It has to be PAID to people, companies and government.

If you have to pay materials to shippers to ship stuff to Iraq - the shippers get that money for the service. They use that to pay the employees, the captains and maintain and upgrade a fleet of ships.

If the government pays salaries to US soldiers and companies contracting work in Iraq and at home to support the mission, that money goes to US families and companies who distribute the wealth.

If the US buys bullets, guns and flak vests - that money goes to companies that make those items.

If the US farms out maintenance of equipment to companies like Halliburton, those companies bring those dollars home to spend them in the USA. That's why when the US invests in reconstruction in Iraq, the US tends to use US companies that bring most of that money home to the US.

That 200 million keeps the US and world economy churning. It's not like George Bush stands over the restroom toilet off of the Oval Office and brings in bags of 100,000 treasury notes to flush to nowheresville.

Lots of folks feed their kids with that money. That money has helped to buy freedom for millions of folks - freedom from tyranny is priceless.

It's not charity either - the investment in these things helps fuel our capitalist world and open new consumer markets. A win-win helping make prosperity available to more folks in the world.
