clearly I intended "fatality"---thanks for pointing it out....
The point remains, in spite of my bad, that the low fatality rate Tom was raving about is largely the result of the fantastic improvements of the medical fraternity. Today we have casualties, over 25,000 of them, many of whom would have been fatalities in Viet Nam. And additional credit should be given to advances in protective equipment.
