You mistakenly package me as a 'democrat' because I oppose the war in Iraq. This is not, nor has it ever been a political issue for me. It's simply a matter of what I believe is right and wrong. I'm a classic Tory boy ( i.e. a UK Conservative ) - technically, in the US, I believe I would be classified as a Republican. Why do you insist on packaging anyone who has a problem with this war as a Democrat. Stop trying to classify people on a single opinion - it's just childish and totally without justification.
The concept of invaiding a foreign nation should NEVER be about politics. EVER.
"They didn't make us safe, did they?"
Are you actually telling me that the invasion of Iraq has made the world a safer place. Are you really trying to say that. Please tell me you're more intelligent than that. There's a few families who lost loved ones in London last summer who might have something to say.
" To you, a successful military action is apparently defined by how many people are hurt or not"
And YOU were attempting to make the point that, obviously, everything in Iraq is utterly fantastic, because look how many MORE people died in Vietnam. That's the comparison YOU made. Clearly to YOU a successful military action is defined by hoe many people are hurt or not - because YOU made the comparison. I simply prompted you to quantify it, and you cant.

- Surely you've heard of Pyrrhic victories?
- It was a fair question
- Wait wait wait...hold on there.
- If that strawman was any bigger, I could take it to the Burning Man festival.
- For Tom the loss of life and wealth is not the issue...
- re: For R.L. and others the war is not the issue...
- "The Iraqi civilian dead over the past three years is STILL far less than the average killed annually by Saddam over his regime, "
- WHAT BS
- does that annual average include the Iraq-Iran war and the gassing of the Kurds? (n/t)
- Nice try, but I can see the boilerplate response a mile away. (n/t)
