A blogger and radio host writes a book, and suddenly it's "Mein Kampf."
I heaped scorn on this "budding Reich" thesis before, since the underlying assumptions are:
--That the Democratic Party has no similar ambitions on all three branches of government.
--That gerrymandering was invented only after Republicans controlled state legislatures.
--That the Democratic Party didn't actually have a near-permanent majority in Congress for decades until 1994. Don't remember any fretting from liberals during those years about concentration of power.
--That there is one living Democratic politician today who, if the Democrats got control of all three branches of government, would stand up and say "what we really need is a few more Republicans for proper balance."
"Bipartisan" is a word that passes Democratic lips only when they're in the minority. Spare me. The second the Democrats get back in power, the first thing they will do is change the rules so they can stay there, not least of which is to pass legislation that will destroy the alternative media.
