Don't read more into this than it deserves Tom, school administrators are notorious wusses (is that how you spell that?) when it comes to PC, esp. if it leads to lawsuits. None of my commie pinko comrades ever got worked up over small stuff like this. We wanted to smash the state, not deface the coinage.

I will tell you a related story, when my 16 year old cousin escaped Cuba on the Pedro Pan program in '61, he was astonished by our mandatory school prayer and Pledge of Allegiance in our high school homeroom.
I remember him leaning over and whispering to me in Spanish after his first morning ceremony: "Avoiding this kind of political indoctrination crap is exactly why my parents shipped me out of Cuba in the first place."

What really flipped him out was having to sing "Dixie" at the start of every football game. "Wasn't the Civil War a hundred years ago."
