"one stupid book"

But one very popular, if stupid, book. You may be one of the few Republican who hasn't read it. According to Amazon's tracking of "customers who bought this item also bought...", PMR has a place of honor in the required reading list of Devout Republicans:

* Strategery: How George W. Bush Is Defeating Terrorists, Outwitting Democrats, and Confounding the Mainstream Media by Bill Sammon
* Rebel-in-Chief: Inside the Bold and Controversial Presidency of George W. Bush by Fred Barnes
* An Army of Davids : How Markets and Technology Empower Ordinary People to Beat Big Media, Big Government, and Other Goliaths by Glenn Reynolds
* Unhinged : Exposing Liberals Gone Wild by Michelle Malkin
* The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America by David Horowitz

Amazon

Which of those other books would you label "stupid" by association?

You're just sore because the secret's out; as the Regnery blurb puts it, "Warning: this is the book the Democrats don’t want you to read....Painting the Map Red is the insider’s blueprint for achieving a permanent Republican majority". Well I read it, and your bluster won't make me stop reporting what I read. Perhaps your beef is with Hewitt or Regnery for publishing the book; once published, it's fair game for critical analysis of Republican strategy.

You're right, of course, that it's ridiculous to suppose that the GOP can actually succeed at it. But when has that stopped partisans from acting on their crazy hopes anyway, and putting the nation through hell before their stupidity is demonstrated? The point is to spare the country the trauma of fighting off a coup de etat, however foolish.

I note you're at it again, trying to mutate what I say into a form more conducive to your ridicule. I said nothing about anyone choosing their vote to preserve balance. I'm only talking about the attempt by a political party to hold power in disregard of the votes of the citizens. A Party interposing itself between the people and the government is rendering the question of votes moot, and that's a horse of quite a different color.
