Give me one Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Dick Cheney (despite his aim), Karen Hughes anyday over Warren Christopher, Les Aspin, Madeline Albright, Al Gore and Dick Morris. Whenever folks like Ron Brown, Donna Shalala & Mario Cuomo arrived to hear Clinton's SOTU it gave Clinton's cabinet the required PC circus bigtop feel, I kept looking for the bearded lady - and then realized that was Hillary I saw shaving with the electric razor in the balcony.

Sure Bush's second and third tier appointments have a lot of payback cronies, that naturally get into legal trouble sooner or later, but ALL Presidential administrations have those - Clinton merely appointed more of them to more powerful offices because he really didn't know too many competent and ethical big political figures down in Arkansas.
